Initiatives for a Carbon Neutral Society
Efforts to achieve carbon neutrality are essential in responding to the challenge of global warming. In October 2020, Japan declared its intentions to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Against this backdrop, companies seeking to achieve sustainable growth must address global warming not just as part of their corporate social responsibilities but also as opportunities for future growth. Togami Electric is implementing a range of initiatives to move toward carbon neutrality, as outlined below.
Renewable Energy
Within the Togami Electric Group, the head office and Togami Metalix generate electricity using solar panels. In 2012, we installed solar panels with a maximum generating capacity of approximately 22 kW on the roof of the head office main building. In 2013, we installed solar panels with a capacity of approximately 50 kW on the roof of the Togami Metalix plant. In 2024, utilizing an on-site PPA scheme, we installed new solar panels with a maximum generating capacity of 252.45 on the roof of a new plant at Togami Metalix.

In addition to installing solar panels, Togami Electric manufactures and sells solar power maintenance and inspection equipment (PV Doctor series).
Our Systems Engineering Department has developed a wastewater treatment system for processing digestate generated during biomass power generation.
Decarbonizing Power Sources and Promoting Electrification and Energy Conservation
Togami Electric is implementing the following initiatives to decarbonize power sources and promote electrification and energy conservation:
• Introducing EVs and battery-powered forklifts
• Upgrading air conditioning systems
• Introducing LED lighting
• Reducing paper use through DX initiatives
• Promoting the Cool Biz and Warm Biz energy-saving campaigns by encouraging employees to wear comfortable clothing in summer and winter
• Enforcing proper waste sorting
• Promoting plastic recycling
• Environmental education for employees
Support for Decokatsu
Togami Electric supports the objectives of the new Decokatsu national movement, which seeks to promote changes in public behavior to reach emission targets by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. We’ve joined the Decokatsu Supporter Team and issued the Decokatsu Declaration. Togami Electric will continue to develop and manufacture energy efficient products designed to promote carbon neutrality, alongside to work on initiatives to decarbonize power sources, promote electrification, and encourage energy conservation.
